“The Pact” is, in many ways, the quintessential “Slice N Deis” episode. All of the five major characters have important and equal subplots, production quality is at an all-time high, and the writing is fouler and smarter than ever. Flashbacks had been an important element of every episode, but “The Pact” is told almost entirely through flashbacks. Each character tells the story of his/her attempt to adhere to the “American Pie”-inspired pact to have sex over the course of a weekend in the middle of the semester. Needless to say, hilarity ensues.
Fun fact: The scenes in the present were shot in an area dubbed by the characters and crew as “Sprinkler Valve.” This area is actually the Usdan Student Center basement, reached only through a hidden door labeled “Sprinkler Valve,” which, since the wrapping of production, has been locked, making the basement off-limits to all students.
