While “New Textbooks,” which was about the first week of classes, was released in February, the third episode aimed for a much timelier release. “The Finals Countdown,” released in May of 2008, provides a few different perspectives on a day of final exams. Walter and Brendon tackle studying in their unique ways, while Ed, Ronnie and Lindsay spend the day as if summer vacation had already started. Their story takes them to the Usen Castle to find the infamous “Attractive Female Society.”
Fun fact: This episode was altogether panned by The Justice, but out-of-context quotes from the review were frequently used in fliers promoting later episodes. For example, after the reviewer said that it was “clear that we don't have the next Arrested Development on our hands,” fliers for episode 5 gleefully exclaimed that it was “the next Arrested Development” -- The Justice.
